Metronidazole is an antibiotic that is used in the treatment of a wide range of infections. It is mostly used to treat gastrointestinal (including parasitic) infections, genital and gynecological infections, visceral abscess, dental and skin infections. Do not stop taking metronidazole without talking to your doctor, even if you feel well. If you don’t finish the prescribed amount, your infection may recur even worse.
